Effects of Omibackchoolsan amd Taklansan Water Extracts on the Renal Function in Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
The aim of the experiments was to investigate the effects of Omibackchoolsan, Taklansan and Omibackchoolsan Hap Taklansan on the renal function in rats.
The results of this study were as follows:
1. Urine volume decreased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan 400 ㎕/200 g, but it was increased significantly after the administration of Taklansan 400 ㎕/´200 g and Omibackchoolsan Hap Taklansan water extracts.
2. Urinary excretion of sodium decreased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan 400 ㎕/200 g, but it was increased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan 800 ㎕/200 g and Omibackchoolsan Hap Taklansan 800 ㎕/200 g.
3. Urinary excretion of potassium decreased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan 400㎕/200 g and Omibackchoolsan I-lap Taklansan 400 ㎕/200 g, but it was increased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan Hap Taklansan 800 ㎕/200 g.
4. Urinary excretion of chloride increased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan 400 ㎕/200 g and Taklansan 400 ㎕/200 g.
5. Free water clearance decreased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan 800 ㎕/200 g and Omiback- choolsan Hap Taklansan wate extracts, but it was increased significantly after the administration of Taklansan water extracts.
6. Urinary excretion of creatinine decreased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan 800 ㎕/200 g, but it was increased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan 800 ㎕/200 g and Takes 410 ㎕/200 g.
7. plasma renin activity was increased significantly after the administration of Omibackchoolsan, Taklansan and Omibackchoolsan Hap Taklansan water extracts.
8. plasma levels of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) was decreased significantly after the administration of Taklansan and Omiback- choolsan Hap Taklansan water extracts.
9. plasma levels of aldosterone was increased significantly after the administration of Taklansan 400 ㎕/200 g and Omibackchoolsan Hap Taklansan water extracts.
These results suggest that the changes of renal function after the administration of Omibackchoolsan Hap Taklansan water extracts were related to the changes of plasma levels of atria] natriuretic peptide (ANP) and aldosterone.
